Trump reportedly prohibited US diplomats in Vietnam — from attending Vietnam's 30 April end of war commemoration

He just has to be an Adam Henry?
The combination of President Trump's ignorance and his blazing character flaws are competing with Joe Biden's abysmal presidential record to become the most US-damaging president ever.
In addition to (rationally indefensibly) slapping Vietnam with 46 percent tariffs, Toddling Donny (equally characteristically) could not resist reigniting Vietnam's memories of millions dead — at American hands — by doing the following:
The Trump administration has told its senior diplomats in Vietnam not to take part in events marking the 50th anniversary of the end of the war.
Four U.S. officials who insisted on anonymity to describe sensitive diplomatic decision-making said that Washington had recently directed senior diplomats — including Marc Knapper, the U.S. ambassador to Vietnam — to stay away from activities tied to the anniversary on April 30.
That includes a hotel reception on April 29 with senior government leaders and an elaborate parade the next day — gatherings hosted by Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, where the war ended with South Vietnam’s surrender.
Veterans returning to Vietnam have also been told they’re on their own, for public discussions they organize on war and reconciliation, and anniversary events. For many, it amounts to a sudden reversal after months of anticipation.

Decades of reconciliation, damaged for no sensible reason.
Assholerly, for its own sake?
President Trump's repeated episodes of nasty-minded, aggressive idiocy serves no strategic purposes whatsoever.
The man appears to be a complete fool. With virtually zero redeeming personal or professional qualities. God probably regrets giving him two second chances at life.
Trump's narcissistic ego impulsively and thoughtlessly throws away serial opportunities to achieve recognizable spiritual redemption.
The moral? — After his second presidential term's first hundred days . . .
. . . Trump's overall record inclines me to suspect that he will eventually manage to go down in History as the incontestably worst American president ever.
To win that title, all he has to do is beat out his predecessor, Joe Biden. An allegedly criminally minded man, with notable signs of dementia. Who did virtually everything that the neocon Deep State — that controlled him — could think of, so as to permanently flush America's standing in the world.
This will (evidently) be a life-capping achievement for you, Mr. President. Beating a guy with virtually no brain left.
No bar to low. No stupidity too dumb. No murderous nastiness too unwarranted.
