Buffoons and Bumbleheads — After Reveling in Donald Trump’s Id-ish Revelation of the Republican Party’s Core Values — I Admit a Corresponding Sad Chuckle at Democrat Hillary Clinton — Being Caught Out for Her Arrogantly Displayed Lack of Political Foresight

Arrogance bites (pun intended)

In March, I suspected that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s demonstrated lack of political foresight — for example, (a) to and fro-ing her State Department emails on a private server and (b) accepting foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation — might get her into 2016 presidential campaign trouble.

And so it may have:

Two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into whether sensitive government information was mishandled in connection with the personal email account Hillary Rodham Clinton used as secretary of state, senior government officials said Thursday.

The request follows an assessment in a June 29 memo by the inspectors general for the State Department and the intelligence agencies that Mrs. Clinton’s private account contained “hundreds of potentially classified emails.” The memo was written to Patrick F. Kennedy, the under secretary of state for management.

With the fairly inferred result that:

Quinnipiac University’s latest polling results indicate a sharply diminished outlook for Clinton. For the first time, she is trailing her top GOP rivals in the critical swing states of Colorado, Iowa and Virginia. And her honesty and trustworthy ratings are in free fall.

Brutally negative favorability ratings in each critical state, 35% favorable to 56% unfavorable in Colorado, 33% to 56% in Iowa, and 41% to 50% in Virginia, reflect poorly on her candidacy thus far.

Given the bleakness of Quinnipiac’s latest polls, voters have resoundingly indicated that they expect a higher level of responsiveness out of the candidate.

Buffoons and bumbleheads

Where Donald Trump conceitedly cavorts as the rawly representative Republican Id, the Clintons arrogantly continue to rock as the Democratic Party’s mistake-prone “do what we will” Plutocratic Wing.

Secretary Clinton’s performance has been eyebrow raising, in that one would have expected someone of her intelligence to have shielded herself from foreseeable attacks by not making stupid political mistakes.

Contempt for most of us — or political ineptitude — may be causes of her errors. Neither trait bodes well for her candidacy or her presidency, should the latter come to pass.

The moral? — Picking a president from this selection of near identical political parties is an exercise in self-flagellating futility

We have two forms of rapacious quasi-enslavement to choose from. One is represented by bigoted, wealth-sucking buffoons and the other by arrogantly deceitful Übermensch.

Take your pick.

But keep in mind that the competent people pulling the puppet strings attached to both political parties have interests that have nothing to do with keeping the rest of us fat, free and happy.
