When DEFCON Absurd is not enough — the US leaps to Idiot Ridiculous — more on the infamously Chinese balloon

Yahoo News invested another 1381 words . . .

. . . in its serial 'Chinese balloon' propaganda contribution to American government's unending stream of rampant mindlessness:

In holding up its Lamestream end of Deep State tutelage (in this newest story), Yahoo apparently felt forced to drag in two more specialists in silly-minds control. Thus, generating a total of five authors. Up two from the original story's already effulgent three.

Notice, in reading Yahoo's propaganda piece . . .

. . .that this purportedly hideously evil balloon traveled all the way from the United States' Pacific Aleutian Islands to the Atlantic's South Carolina coast, before our mighty Defense Establishment decided to bring it down with enthusiastic levels of jingoistic fanfare:

The giant white orb was spotted Saturday morning over the Carolinas as it approached the Atlantic coast.

About 2:39 p.m. EST, an F-22 fighter jet fired a missile at the balloon, puncturing it while it was about 6 nautical miles off the coast near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, senior defense officials said.

“They successfully took it down and I want to compliment our aviators who did it,” Biden said after getting off Air Force One en route to Camp David.

In preparation for the operation Saturday, the Federal Aviation Administration temporarily closed airspace over the Carolina coast, including the airports in Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina, and Wilmington, North Carolina.

The FAA rerouted air traffic from the area and warned of delays as a result of the flight restrictions. The FAA and Coast Guard worked to clear the airspace and water below the balloon as it reached the ocean.

Emphasis

Cognitively absorb that our government could not let the final seconds of its preposterous fearmongering fully pass — before turning it into an expensive (clear the air space) stage piece.

This, by blasting the balloon in presumably heavily traveled air routes located around the two Carolinas' coasts.

And, as already stated, that enthusiastically destructive event belatedly occurring, only after the balloon had already slowly (wind-drift) traveled thousands of miles from the Pacific's Aleutians to South Carolina.

Presumably, the balloon's exceedingly long route Pacific to Atlantic route having been, at least occasionally, well away from heavily traveled sections of the American atmosphere.

We can (thus) deduce that the Defense Establishment missed opportunities for gloriously absurd showboating that would have been much less expensively intrusive.

'Don't ever let a fake propaganda moment die' . . .

. . . remains the American Establishment's tediously repetitive message.

In sum

True to its historically established form, the Military Industrial Complex has again demonstrated that the American public exists only to feed its voracious greed and its all-consuming, serially concocted paranoia.

Meanwhile — on the complicit Lamestream's end

Even the text of Yahoo's article admits that its "drawing a threat from China" title is a lie:

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that “China will resolutely uphold the relevant company’s legitimate rights and interests, and at the same time reserving the right to take further actions in response.”

China's Ministry of Defense echoed the statement later in the day, saying it “reserves the right to take necessary measures to deal with similar situations.”

Which, objectively perceived, is a pretty mild diplomatic reaction to:

Americans formally clearing airspace

showily flying armed fighter jets around

then

blowing up (well, deflating) a giant weather-type balloon

and, overall

(after a delay of days and thousands of miles)

stage-pretending that China has somehow attacked them

with a purported Chinese weapon that magically and exponentially surpasses the capabilities of World War One's observation balloons.

The moral? — We Americans revel in DEFCON 'Idiot Ridiculous'

If our government were noticeably smarter and more dignified than it is, it would be embarrassed.

We citizens should (one would assume) be mortified by having put these serial crews of nasty-minded imbeciles into positions of power.

Yet achieving even such otherwise mundane levels of public mental awareness is probably like asking for the moon.
