We will save your impoverished, sorry self — during business hours — except on holidays — inadvertent humor from California

Sometimes, events tumble together to make a solid point

Wisdom-inspiring dark humor delightfully ambushes us from unexpected places.

Consider the following.

Background

See Katie Hopkins' argument about societal dependency:

Katie Hopkins Official, Heat banks? Re-educating people to give up independent life. Dependency is beguilingly easy, YouTube (30 August 2022) (at 11:40)

Hopkins' comment was made in relationship . . .

. . .  to the United Kingdom's boomeranging anti-Russia sanctions and the UK's resultingly proposed 'heat banks'.

'Heat banks' — meaning heated public places for people to gather.

Which the UK is proposing to use to keep its artificially impoverished population of folk alive.

During the West's boomeranging anti-Russia sanctions' — equally nonsensically created — UK energy shortage.

Now, examine the US equivalent — 'cooling centers'

Yesterday, from the Fairfield (California) Police Department. Which is a competent agency. Located in a competently run city:

Another heatwave is rolling in, Fairfield. Over Labor Day Weekend, temperatures are expected to reach triple digits – as high as 115 in the Valley, with the most dangerous temps falling on Sunday through Tuesday.

In response, Solano County libraries will serve as cooling centers [during business hours].

This includes the Fairfield Civic Center Library, Fairfield Cordelia Library and the Law Library.

Please note, however, that currently all of these facilities will be closed for the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 5.

You interpreted the above message correctly

Government will help y'all — at virtually no cost to itself.

Except on holidays.

And only during regular business hours.

We cannot have Government's bureaucrats inconvenienced

And nobody, of course, dies outside of working hours.

Or on days off.

The moral? — Better save your own self

Just as Katie Hopkins advocates.
