Typically American, a $10,984 COVID test — predatory corruption all the way up the chain

Ain't Ahmurika great?

There's no end to institutionally approved pillaging.

Let plunderers rejoice.

From ProPublica:

When Dr. Zachary Sussman went to Physicians Premier ER in Austin for a COVID-19 antibody test, he assumed he would get a freebie because he was a doctor for the chain.

Instead, the free-standing emergency room charged his insurance company an astonishing $10,984 for the visit — and got paid every penny, with no pushback.

He knew the materials for each antibody test only amounted to about $8, and it gets read on the spot — similar to an at-home pregnancy test.

Yes . . .

No pushback from Sussman's medical employer, the health insurance company involved, or the state of Texas — which lets this predatory racket proceed, without even a hint of public-protecting interference.

Appreciate . . .

. . . the ridiculously high insurance rates necessary to sustain these levels of day-to-day looting.

Extortionist practices like this are why the United States is spinning through its last toilet swirl.

Raging avarice has eliminated We the People's last vestiges of economic and societal sense.

The moral? — Let's be proud, anyway . . .

We're happy passengers on the Ship to Self-Prescribed Doom.

And there's no bill for self-prescription.

Can't beat that.
