My daughter’s Army JAG boyfriend said it well last night — “a society apart”

 

On this Independence Day, our media’s triviality makes it is especially easy to forget the military people who are burdened with fighting the United States’ politically motivated, self-destructive wars.

 

Asking our troops to sacrifice their lives — and those of their unintended victims — on our unnecessary behalf is certainly not what the Declaration of Independence was intended to address.
