Nuclear war will be bad for climate change? — The Atlantic thinks so — and other signs unicellular life in America

American nitwitism as an art form

Consider the following three indicators of the United States' decline into Sheer Stupidity's mush.

Lost mind metaphor — one

The Atlantic magazine tweeted that:

A nuclear war would kill tens of millions of people—and would also prove disastrous for climate change . . . . [12 March 2022]

It would be bad for kids on tricycles, polar bears — corn and zinnias — too.

Lost mind metaphor — two

Taking patriotic umbrage with the Russian side of the Ukrainian War — which the United States had provoked as a matter of American policy — a Wisconsin 'mustard museum' crafted the following sign. And stood it in an empty display case:

The Russian mustards have been temporarily removed.

They will return once the Russian invasion of Ukraine is over and Russia recognizes and respects the sovereign nation of Ukraine. [13 March 2022]

A stern warning, indeed.

Chastised Russian condiments are reportedly weeping copiously in their imprisoning cupboard.

On the brighter side, Wisconsinites — who were bored enough to go to a 'mustard museum' in the first place — were, no doubt, delighted at this stalwartly bloodless and courage-unrequiring stand against murdering tyranny.

As a result of the overwhelming intellectual and emotional strength of the mustard museum's moral example — Vlad the Impaler will be directing his generals to end the Russo-Ukrainian War immediately.

Rooskie Land cannot have its taste-enhancers sitting as prisoners-of-war in the dark.

Lost-mind metaphor — three

Not to be outdone by the preceding examples of reactive brainlessness, Senator Mitt Romney took Tulsi Gabbard to hysterical task — for a tweet about US-Ukrainian biolabs:

There are 25+ US-funded biolabs in Ukraine which if breached would release & spread deadly pathogens to US/world. We must take action now to prevent disaster.

US/Russia/Ukraine/NATO/UN/EU must implement a ceasefire now around these labs until they’re secured & pathogens destroyed [13 March 2022]

Romney apparently disagreed with Gabbard's interpretation of Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland's tacit admission of the labs' existence.

Magnificent Mitt, inferably frantically, thumb-pounded his presumable cell phone in a firing-squad-like response:

Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda.

Her treasonous lies may well cost lives. [13 March 2022]

Treason, huh?

Perhaps the Mittster needs to read about what treason actually is. And also keep up with the news.

The moral? — Vacuity, that's us

I wonder what is going to happen, when we Americans finally have to face off against competent realists like those that inhabit much of Russian and Chinese leadership.

Ukrainians, for example, are discovering that intentionally taunting a comparatively powerful foreign military might have been a bad idea. One that putting mustard into a cupboard will not cure.

American policy — which incessantly and aggressively provokes Russia and China — may eventually boomerang us the same 'manufactured in Ukraine' lesson.

History repeatedly reminds us that fostering unwarranted and hypocritical contempt for others is a weakening, not a strengthening, thing.

A good example of this principle is Senator Lindsey Graham and his geopolitically ridiculous call for Putin's assassination.

In Graham, we have the quintessential (warmongering pansy ass) wimp wanting to tangle — vicariously and at someone else's death-inviting expense — with a someone who is, pretty emphatically, not one.

Graham is a good metaphor for American foreign policy, whose essence comes down to the Military Industrial Complex:

murdering and maiming our own volunteer troops

as well as

hundreds of thousands to millions of 'foreign' people

in strategically baseless

but oligarchically profitable wars

at absolutely no cost to itself

or to the Oligarchs who run it.

Our real enemies are here. Not there.

Vacuity misses this point.
