Looks as if proxy-bent NATO jackals — are going to be out-escalated — by an irritated Russia

Who in the Idiot West could possibly have foreseen this?

Yes, that's sarcasm.

From RT:

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has announced the need to make a number of structural changes to the country’s armed forces in light of NATO’s attempts to bolster its presence on Russia’s border and expand its membership to Finland and Sweden.

During a Russian Defense Ministry meeting on Wednesday, Shoigu proposed a number of measures to strengthen the security of the Russian Federation, including creating a special grouping of troops on the country’s northwestern border and expanding Russia’s armed forces to amount to 1.5 million servicemen in total, with some 695,000 of them being contract soldiers.

During his address to senior defense officials, Putin also emphasized the need to continue to modernize Russia’s nuclear arsenal, describing it as the key to guaranteeing the country’s sovereignty.

Moon of Alabama estimates that . . .

. . . Russian's military forces expansion will represent an increase of roughly half a million troops:

I seriously doubt that NATO will be able to match it.

Perhaps more to the point

It is unlikely that officially pussy NATO — which is currently content, along with the United States, to proxy-feed Ukrainians into the Slaughter Zone — which (remember) the US and NATO instigated on purpose — are too cowardly to fight anyone competent, no matter what NATO's overall troop numbers are.

It appears to me that

The ideas underlying Paul Craig Roberts' critique of Russia's arguably foolishly undertaken Go Slow performance, during the Ukraine War, may finally be gaining some traction among the Federation's leadership.

My own hypothetical Putin Substitute would go further.

He or she would want a Russian capability, which could throw at least 1.5 million troops — with armor and air cover — into the rest of Ukraine. Thereby enacting the metaphorical recreation of the Red Army's mass method of eliminating the Third Reich.

The message thus sent to the West would be simple:

You Americans think that you're the equivalent of the reasonably capably led Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe?

Let's find out.

American Government (of course) would scramble for its nukes. Being characteristically too yellow to do anything actually population-conscripting and courageous — or (for that matter) effective — in the face of the murder troubles that US neocons consistently start.

And after their radioactive selection — among less chickenshit options — everyone on this dithering planet would know who the real trouble-makers are.

It is ironic that the only real courage . . .

. . . that the US — as a force-projecting entity — possesses, lies in the rank and file of its (also perennially sacrificed) military one percent.

The moral? — Think about how We the People are daily manipulated . . .

. . . into murdering other people.

Who benefits?

Morally speaking — and certainly strategically so — we should rebel against proxying anyone at all. Rather than passively contributing our taxes and our (generally ignorant) opinions to ruling neocons' unalloyed commitment to creating perennial hells on Earth.

Sadly, Russia is probably, eventually, going to need more than 1.5 million troops.
