Investigating COVID's epidemiology — if useless American governments won't do it — the public will?

COVID — conspiracy-fostered ignorance for profit?

Today, I tackle the question of why American government(s) have been so stalwartly useless in prompting and funding investigations into SARS-CoV-2's epidemiological nature.

We're still living in a pool of near-complete ignorance.

Why?

Let's start backwards — with the politicized 'debate' . . .

. . . over wearing non-virus-stopping COVID masks in the United States.

As I have said before, if the US had bothered to mount an affordable cost N95 mask-manufacturing initiative, we would not be having this discussion at all:

People who thought themselves vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2 infection would have N95s.

And the rest of recalcitrant (or not) American folk could do what they want.

Yet, nobody speaks about this obviously elemental N95 shortcoming of the American response to the coronavirus.

Why?

Instead . . .

The United States — and its individual states — have been sitting on their bottomlessly vacuous behinds.

Our combined, de facto emphasis has been on not doing anything epidemiologically helpful or inquisitive.

Apparently, all that COVID has accomplished in the United States is to bring out leadership's generally totalitarian, grossly incompetent and even brainless nature.

Ergo, libertarian-minded disobedience is underway

Regarding this portion of the public's mini-rebellion, the American Lamestream considers it fashionable to condemn maskless Americans for being either hard-hearted or witless.

My view is different.

Those maskless folk are contributing to the epidemiological inquiry that American Government refuses to mount.

Mask-disavowing disobedients are, in effect, helping us quantitatively uncover COVID's true nature.

Under ignorance's inescapable conditions . . .

I understand why alleged conspiracy theorists are having a field day with the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

See, for example, Dr. Vernon Coleman's thoughtfully representative take on the COVID Scare:

Vernon Coleman, We Are Victims of the Greatest Crime in History, YouTube (20 July 2020)

The world's lackadaisical refusal to scientifically study the on-ground mechanics of the virus's spread — as well as its actual quantitative effects on human mortality and health — surprises people with still working brains.

It is no wonder that

Herds of Americans think there is a whole lot of overwrought bullshit going on.

And naturally, these innately skeptical folk also wonder who profits from dispensing COVID fright propaganda:

Vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturers?

Media outlets?

Politicians seeking power?

I wonder myself

What is going on, given all the investigatively unused time that has passed — with not an iota of significant American-sponsored investigative epidemiological progress being made — outside of direct patient-care and patient-research fields?

An important aside — with regard to medical practice

Physicians and medical researchers have been diligently getting a handle on coping with the virus's in-body effects.

I attribute this group's admirable querying efforts to Medicine's occupational ethics.

A pity that those same fiduciary behavior-guides do not apply to anyone else with ostensibly assigned control of the COVID pandemic.

Things would be knowledge-illuminatingly different, if they did.

Fools and greed work well together

Intentionally indulging complacent ignorance is a fool's game.

Or a profit-seeker's.

I am convinced that 'somebodies' are profiting by intentionally keeping us ignorant, with regard to COVID's mechanics.

I'm in accord with people, who are skeptical that world authorities and avaricious capitalists ever have Humanity's core interests in mind.

Think of the loot . . .

. . that vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturers will haul in, if they scare the COVID bejesus out of us.

Especially so, if the fear that they generate is quantitatively exaggerated and should (in truth) only apply to a comparatively small portion of genetically and physiologically vulnerable people.

Keep in mind that

When dealing with society at large, it is important to be mindful of proportions, as well as just large numbers.

Proportionality should (generally always) figure into societal discussions regarding risks, means and measures to be taken.

Absolute numbers, especially on a planet of roughly 8 billion people, do not tell the whole 'we should do this' story.

That is what maskless American authority-rejecters are pointing to.

The moral? — Be grateful to people whose skepticism will eventually deliver us . . .

. . . some answers to COVID's epidemiological nature.

I remain (sarcastically) impressed with the uselessness of American governmental and economic culture in dealing with what is, in reality, a relatively simple investigative problem.

SARS-CoV-2 is novel. But that's different than saying that the coronavirus's mechanisms and effects are beyond our ability to detect.

What is striking (after all these months) is that virtually no one influentially American is trying to find epidemiologically related facts.

It is, under those circumstances, difficult to completely dismiss Conspiracy's tangle inside Government mindlessness's pot.
