Idiots with numbers are dangerous — an outstanding COVID example of such

Shall we parade our stupidity in lights?

"Field Empty" (whoever that is) published the following anti-COVID-vaccination nonsense in Anti-Empire:

Fauci says that an incredible 99.2% of those who die of COVID in the US are now unvaccinated . . . .

In Israel the 60% who are vaccinated instead contributed 75% of the deaths so far in July.

How is it that the 60% vaccinated Israelis contributed 75% of Israeli COVID deaths in July, but the 52% Americans vaccinated by June contributed just 0.8% of deaths that month?

One would think that this is a reasonable question . . .

. . . until Field Empty blows himself up with the following admission:

Sure enough, the sample size in Israel is small.

They’ve had just 12 deaths whole July so far.

Thus one shouldn’t rush to too many conclusions.

Oh my.

The moral? — "Field Empty" is a good name for a colossal nitwit

Field Empty takes 12 Israeli deaths, and equates that tiny number's huge predictive error bars — to the large numbers — and their inherently much smaller spans of potential statistical error — that Anthony Fauci is addressing?

Is Field Empty nuts?

Or just a determined troublemaker?

Anti-Empire does its credibility no good by publishing awe-inspiring fools.
