Grandstanding Trump caves — but only after damage is certain — how typical

Background to today's blurb

Remember this from just days ago?

"I'm asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2000 or $4000 per couple."

"I'm also asking Congress to immediately get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items in this legislation or to send me a suitable bill."

Afterward — Commander in Chief golfs, while we pay

How typical:

President Donald Trump's decision to wait until late Sunday to sign a $900 billion coronavirus relief measure into law will likely cost millions of jobless Americans a week of unemployment aid, given that the bill's extension of benefits is still set to end in mid-March.

Because benefit weeks begin on Sundays in most states, Trump's belated signature will likely result in a week of lost assistance.

The unemployment benefits under the relief measure are not retroactive.

"May the Rabble supplicate while I . . .

. . . Il Duce Magnificus, cavort in the sun of my own making!"

That's Trump, through and through.

A man who, indicatively, still gets about half of the American population's full support.

The moral? — Corruption and mental sloth addle our minds

On the one hand, we have Grifter-Grafter Trump and his plutocrat-toadying Republicans.

On the other, Grafter-Grifter Biden and his Wall Street Democrats.

If you can find an iota of survival-oriented, common person intelligence in this state of affairs, y'all are way ahead of me.

Democracy fails because humans, generally speaking, combine innate stupidity with a willingness to be propagandized toward other people's profit. How else to explain History's boringly repetitive outcomes?

Point to the MAGA Man and Congress.

Let golden trumpets blast tribute.
