Freeing Julian Assange is about maintaining Liberty — and opposing the American Secrecy State — that imprisons or kills those who expose its crimes

Ask yourselves this — on your future way to the 'camps'

What did I do to oppose the Totalitarian System that crushed Julian Assange and so many others before him?

The American Deep State, Congress and the Presidency are among humanity's deadliest enemies

The corporatist Military Industrial Complex that owns and runs them all, imprisons or kills the people who most effectively resist its Liberty-squashing, murdering grasp.

As an old-fashioned American patriot — think pseudo-Thomas Paine . . .

. . . my moral contempt for these totalitarians is unlimited.

Yours should be also.

If not, you will have nothing legitimate to whine about — when you ride the metaphorical Train of Wailing Souls to the Gulag.

The moral? — Is contained in the following quotes . . .

. . . my slight clarifications contained in bracketed italics — source citation at the end:

. . . Yanis Varoufakis:

They are getting Julian.

Then, they will get you, me — everyone.

This is a clear struggle for freedom of the press. And the right of citizens to know that which government is doing behind their backs, supposedly on their behalf.

. . . Paul Jay:

The lying is at the heart of it.

So, if you go and get people really inside the National Security State and reveal the war crimes, the lying, the bullshit of the arms industry — that's like putting a dagger into a place you're not allowed to go.

. . . John Pilger:

A felon, who confessed, is one of the US's principle witnesses in this grotesque case.

Not long ago, he confessed that everything that everything he said was a fabrication.

Not a word about him [from the media].

. . . Abby Martin — posing the key question:

We are going to lock people away, facing 200 years in prison, for exposing war crimes.

What kind of country — what kind of world — are we 'gonna' live in?

. . . and Edward Snowden — delivering the only ethically appropriate response to that question:

Think about the opportunities [— implicitly meaning to resist Tyranny —] that you have.

Because there are no heroes. Nobody's going to save you.

There are only heroic actions. There are only heroic choices.

There are only people who, moment by moment, see bad things and recognize:

Maybe I can do something. Maybe I can't fix everything. But maybe I can make progress.

Maybe I am the One that I am waiting for.

And as soon as you start thinking like that, you will realize that you are.

Be one of the Ones.

Recall Martin Niemöller 1940s words.

Or alternatively, cower in our witless burrows, getting ready to whine about the injustice of it all — when the American Gestapo eventually come for our own (arguably close-to-worthless) asses.

As a sidenote — and further exposing American Propaganda's intentionally distracting focus — today I was peripherally treated to watching:

a fawning ABC

long-windedly cover

billionaire (and Adam Henry) Jeff Bezos's

substantively meaningless

Rich Guy antics in near space.

Oh joy.
