Getting a grip

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Democrats have been fine with killing Liberty and Labor — so as to forcibly impose an:

unrealistically reasoned,

implemented

and

enforced

'flattening of the patient curve'.

Over time

These despots' excesses have become noticeable, even though I understand involved county health departments' initial (emergency) save-lives impulse.

Curiously however — over time — instead of refining and narrowing the scope of their imposed blanket lock-downs — or actively doing coronavirus research that would better define what we are actually faced with — some governors and mayors have even heightened restrictions upon people's freedom of movement.

It is as if the Hitler-Stalin team has come to town. Riding COVID's nasty horse.

Robert Bridge synopsized 2020 election politics this way

Writing in RT, he said that:

[T]he battle against Covid-19 has come down to . . . a naked power grab on behalf of some politicians who have lost all sense of proportion and logic when it comes to imposing their anti-virus regulations.

Not only summer, but liberty itself has been canceled.

[C]onsider the measures put forward by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who banned travel between private residences and ordered stores to shut down the sale of seeds and gardening supplies.

She also banned the use of motor boats on her state’s waterways (though that has now been overturned), cutting deep into the local economy, not to mention leisure time.

Did any of that help to stop the spread of the virus? Doubtful.

What it did seem to do is drive up tensions at a time when millions of Americans are unemployed while enduring ‘house arrest.’

Meanwhile, back in sunny California, the city of Los Angeles woke up to the news that stay-at-home orders will continue for another three months.

Specifically, don’t think of trying to get some sun on the beach to help with lockdown paleness:

“Face coverings will be required when not in the water, and sunbathing won’t be allowed… Coolers, chairs, umbrellas and any of the other accessories that typically dot the shoreline should be left at home,” the LA Times sums up the ‘new normal’ rules.

If current political trends continue, the Democrats’ apparent enthusiasm over excessive rules and regulations will cost them not only the US presidential elections, but the House as well.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is (indeed) a good example

This power-hungry, evidently Mussolini-type reportedly went so far as to mandate that people stay off dry beach sand in favor of wet sand at LA's now opened beaches. No picnic coolers and people lying around, either.

No competing authorities — like say, the Judiciary or Law Enforcement — have yet intervened to derail Garcetti's grossly dictatorial control.

Do (please) tell me

What is the disease-generating quotient of dry sand — as opposed to wet sand?

And how is someone lying on the beach differently breathing and germ-spewing — than someone running down the beach and past lots of people?

Why is taking a cooler to the beach more dangerous — than carrying a bag or backpack filled with goodies?

There is not a bit of rational basis — which is one of several arguably applicable US Constitutional standards — to distinguish what qualifies as 'Garcetti legal' from what is not.

For the most part

I guess New and Spineless America is okay with enthusiastically falling victim to emperor-wannabe minds.

Better a slave and alive — than ill or dead?

Notice, too, that

It has been as if Americans are intentionally rejecting fact-gathering and scientific investigation in favor of:

brazenly imprisoning themselves for lousily thought out reasons

and/or

frenetically and purposelessly milling around like emotionally startled sheep.

For instance

No one influential, from the Presidency down, has bothered to promote a genuinely mobilized national movement toward:

manufacturing reliable medical supplies

and

demonstrably accurate COVID tests

(both by the necessary millions and millions)

inside the United States

(and not in China or India) —

nor

is anyone urging us to mount

financially massively supported

and

motivationally determined

scientific and medical investigations

that examine the way that COVID acts

and how

SARS-CoV-2's impact and costs can be rationally controlled.

We can conclude from these blazingly obvious lapses of judgment that . . .

American 'leaders' — and this country's overly ample supply of Unthinking Sheep — prefer to haplessly mill around in self-imposed cages of ignorance and serfdom.

On top of such less than respect-worthy cultural behavior — a bunch of these same noodle-spined, slavery-inviting types criticize the few demonstrators — who actually remember what the US Constitution says.

The moral? — It is difficult to respect a combination of culture-sponsored ignorance and power-seeking dictatorship

Better (in my view) that we all die of COVID infection.

Rather than openly confess that we are too intellectually unmotivated to beat SARS-CoV-2, while still operating within Liberty's embrace.

As for Garcetti and his Ilk, they all need to go to unemployment, prison or the guillotine. Pick one.

I credit these power-grabbers with not one whit of American decency and self-restraint.

Think 1776 and 1789. Then compare where we are in May 2020.

Do we really think that infectious disease was less significant in 1789 than it is now?
