Waco Branch Davidian massacre comes back — in Biden's pick for ATF head

Remember ATF's contribution to . . .

. . . 1993's Waco massacre?

That began with a Government-instigated shootout that resulted in the deaths of 4 ATF agents and 6 Branch Davidians.

This unfortunate initial engagement — ostensibly over the Branch Davidians "stockpiling illegal weapons" — was followed by a siege that ended with the Feds ramming the (alleged kooks') building with tanks and tear gas.

Somehow — imagine that! — a fire started and burned the place down. 76 more Branch Davidians died. Including 28 children.

Enter 'Dementia' Joe

President Biden's pick to head ATF has been plucked from the Feds' instigated embers of the Waco slaughter:

David Chipman, President Biden’s pick to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives [see here], has made a series of controversial and partisan statements on social media over the years related to gun ownership and his experience in the law enforcement agency.

The gun-control advocate, who once worked as a case agent in the Branch Davidian trial, answered questions on Reddit as part of an “Ask Me Anything” forum in September 2019.

During that forum, he falsely claimed, without noting his time as a case agent for the trial, that Branch Davidian sect members had shot down two helicopters during the Waco Massacre.

While it is largely understood that Branch Davidian members shot at the helicopters, the vessels themselves did not go down.

Most notably, no Barretts were recovered at the scene of the massacre.

Four ATF agents and 82 Branch Davidians died during the 51-day standoff, which began in late February 1993, when law enforcement and the Waco, T[exas]-based religious cult engaged in a standoff as authorities tried to seize illegal weapons they believed the group was stockpiling.

The massacre ended after the FBI launched a tear gas attack, during which the compound caught on fire. Only nine members of the group survived.

The moral? — Do we want a Waco massacre retread . . .

. . . in charge of a federal agency that controls our self-defense weapons?

Self-righteous, lying government people (apparently like David Chipman is) are why so many in the United States hold onto the Second Amendment's purported logic.
