US Senate approves America's blatant violations of international law in Syria — our grandfathers' aim for peace, dismembered

We Americans are (evidently) proud of our stroll with the Devil

 

Given an opportunity to force our dead-brain puppet president to withdraw the United States' multiple partial illegal occupations of Syria, the Senate voted — 'heck no':

 

 

Yeas 13

Nays 84

Not voting 3

 

 

Perspective

 

After World War 2, the United States set up a structure designed to prevent similar horrors, including repeats of the Holocaust.

 

The establishment of the United Nations, and particularly the wording of Article 2 of its charter, was part of that process:

 

 

Article 2

 

The Organization and its Members, in pursuit of the Purposes stated in Article 1, shall act in accordance with the following Principles.

 

The Organization is based on the principle of the sovereign equality of all its Members.

 

All Members, in order to ensure to all of them the rights and benefits resulting from membership, shall fulfill in good faith the obligations assumed by them in accordance with the present Charter.

 

All Members shall settle their international disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security, and justice, are not endangered.

 

All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.

 

All Members shall give the United Nations every assistance in any action it takes in accordance with the present Charter, and shall refrain from giving assistance to any state against which the United Nations is taking preventive or enforcement action.

 

The Organization shall ensure that states which are not Members of the United Nations act in accordance with these Principles so far as may be necessary for the maintenance of international peace and security.

 

Nothing contained in the present Charter shall authorize the United Nations to intervene in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state or shall require the Members to submit such matters to settlement under the present Charter; but this principle shall not prejudice the application of enforcement measures under Chapter Vll.

 

 

After the UN's establishment, however

 

We Americans started doing everything in our (now crumbling) Empire's power to tear that peace-intended structure down.

 

Including via the United States' illegal invasions and occupations of other nations.

 

Millions of innocents have died at our hands.

 

Today, the same American-sponsored carnage continues. Recently in proxied Ukraine.

 

And by way of blatant immediate instance, via the United States' eager supply of financial assistance and weapons to Israel.

 

Thereby, manically forwarding Israel's ongoing Holocaust-mimicking elimination of Palestinians.

. . . US-sponsored, reversal of the principles underlying the establishment of the United Nations cannot be imagined.

 

 

The moral? — From arguable angel to Satan . . .

 

. . . in one Hell-making swoop.

 

Along with Zionist Israel, the United States has become what the World War 2 generation vehemently rejected.

 

An appalling irony that says something about the apparently inevitable capture of Hubris by unadulterated Evil.

 

With regard to the US Senate, I stand by my yesterday's evaluation of the House of Representatives:

 

 

How's that for characterizing the tyrannically nitwit collection of mental and moral incompetents, who now comprise almost all of American governance?

 

 

In the immediate instance, is too bad that we cannot substitute the American Senate for our Syria-occupying troops.

 

Let those cowardly Senate grifters bear Syrian militias' retaliations against America's theft of Syrian ground and resources.

 

Bring our troops home.

 

Let our 'One Percent Best' — not become victims of the American military industrial complex's mass murder-prone avarice.
