Why is Senator Rand Paul virtually the only person in Congress — stating the obvious about COVID-inspired US tyranny?

If Americans were genuinely red-blooded 1776 patriots . . .

. . . there would be autocratic bureaucrats' blood all over our streets by now.

Instead, there is mostly silence from the public, with the Democratic Party loudly calling for still more COVID dictatorship.

Peter Van Buren summarized our US situation this way:

The message of 9/11 was: give up freedom for safety, trust the government, and treat your neighbors as potential threats.

The message of Covid is to give up more freedom for safety, trust the government, and treat your neighbors as potential threats.

Fear is infectious and now we’re here.

New Biden travel regulations . . . will soon require Americans returning from abroad to undergo some sort of vax and testing regime. For the first time, Americans will need to demonstrate something other than citizenship to return to their own country.

The right to travel has long been understood as one of the Fifth Amendment liberties of which a citizen cannot be deprived without due process.

By outsourcing enforcement to an airline clerk in Paris, as with outsourcing censorship to Twitter, Biden disposes of Constitutional protections.

[I] was never just about how effective masks are against the virus. What matters is that masks are very effective as an entry-level test of compliance, then later as a symbol. You know, like armbands.

Covid has not been about small political moves; it has always been about massive societal change.

Can’t travel. Can’t work. Can’t go to school. Can’t make medical decisions. Can’t interact with neighbors. Can’t walk into places without government permission. Can’t depend on constitutional protections.

Meanwhile the very wealthiest own spaceships.

One has to be brain-dead not to recognize . . .

. . . the harmful absurdities that mark most of America's COVID response.

I have written repeatedly about this viciously imposed nonsense.

Just enter "COVID" in the search box on this webpage's left side.

Senator Rand Paul (an MD) is one of the few people in Congress . . .

. . . who has been highlighting the lack of sense that guides America's pandemic machinations.

On Thursday 30 September, he dragged the nation's medically incompetent HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra's nose through some of that agency's own idiocies.

The topic (on the day in question) was HHS's denial that natural COVID immunity was at least as good as a vaccine-based one.

The dispute revolved around requiring people — who have previously been infected with and gotten over SARS-CoV-2 illness — to get themselves vaccinated anyway.

This subject is emblematic of US government's dictatorial, anti-investigative thinking.

A brief aside about immunology

Immunologically based thinking would (at least tentatively, given how the immune system works) present the vaccination issue backwards from the way American authorities have.

A sensible medical researcher would — given what we know about immune systems today —form an immunological hypothesis tentatively favoring natural immunity's overall effectiveness, as compared to an mRNA vaccine-based one.

Yet evidently — for Big Pharma profit-protecting reasons — the United States has not only chosen the statistically improbable prong, but is now trying to make that unproven and unlikely hypothesis mandatory upon the public.

And all this without even trying to demonstrate — via vaccine and natural immunity trials — that Government's (probably silly) hypothesis is the correct one.

One of those areas where education and experience matter

Immunology is a complicated topic. Even when assessed by medical school and post-residency fellowship standards.

A dissertation from me about the immune system's basic elements — as those are relevant to mRNA vaccines (as opposed to 'natural' infection) with regard to their comparative immune responses — would bore all but a sliver of medically attuned readers.

So, I will leave y'all to your common sense to make assessments about the probably prevailing likelihoods.

I highlight Senator Paul's Secretary Becerra-drubbing . . .

. . . because Secretary Becerra is so typifyingly representative of the gravitas-bearing autocrats that we Americans allow to jackboot-stomp us.

Here is how Senator Paul's Becerra-pummeling went

The below wording is taken from the Brownstone Institute's transcript of the Senate testimony involved:

Rand Paul:

Mr. Becerra, are you familiar with an Israeli study that had 2.5 million patients and found that the vaccinated group was actually seven times more likely to get infected with COVID than the people that had gotten COVID naturally?

Xavier Becerra:

Senator I’d have to get back to you on that one. I’m not familiar with that study.

Rand Paul:

Well, you think you might want to be if you’re going to travel the country insulting the millions of Americans . . . who have had COVID, recovered, look at a study with 2.5 million people and say, well, you know what?

It looks like my immunity’s as good as the vaccine or not.

And in a free country, maybe I ought to be able to make that decision.

Instead, you’ve chosen to travel the country, calling people . . . flat earthers. We find that very insulting. It goes against the science.

Are you a doctor or a medical doctor?

Xavier Becerra:

I have worked over 30 years on health policy.

Rand Paul:

And you’re not a medical doctor.

Do you have a science degree?

And yet you travel the country calling people flat earthers who have had COVID, looked at studies of millions of people and made their own personal decision that their immunity they naturally acquired is sufficient.

But you presume somehow to tell over 100 million Americans who have survived COVID that we have no right to determine our own medical care.

You alone are on high, and you’ve made these decisions, a lawyer with no scientific background, no medical degree.

This is an arrogance coupled with an authoritarianism that is unseemly and un-American.

You, sir are the one ignoring the science.

The vast preponderance of scientific studies, dozens and dozens, show robust long lasting immunity after COVID infection.

Even the CDC does not recommend measles vaccine if you have measles immunity. The same was true for smallpox.

But you ignore history and science to shame the flat earthers, as you call them.

You should be ashamed of yourself and apologize to the American people for being dishonest about naturally acquired immunity.

The moral? — Is COVID-imprisoned America the place you want to live?

Or would a return to common sense and displays of backboned courage be more inviting?

Are we Americans too ignorant, fear-motivated and lackadaisically cowardly to resist being imprisoned in our own country — as Peter Van Buren implies?

And crikey, just look at the dismal character and virtually blanket incompetence of the people, who are doing the enslavement.

Do you think that We the People should finally get a grip?

Or is the United States to remain a revoltingly piteous and incarcerated shadow of what its Founders had hoped it would become?
