I'm generally against boxing oneself into a strategic corner

Unfortunately for future world peace, China allowed Speaker Pelosi to land in Taiwan.

And thus, the PRC's red line warning has boxed itself in.

Now, China will have to act in some genuinely meaningful retaliatory way.

Consequences

If Mother Nan gets away with her One-China violation, American neocons will be over-the-moon encouraged to further escalate their global warmongering.

The moral? — Hopefully, China will be visibly skillful in its revenge extraction

Absent such, a loss of face for the mainland Chinese — occasioned by this US-provoked unnecessary-ness — will be a disaster for all of humanity.

An eventual nuclear war — due to ballooning overconfidence in American imperialists' thinking — would almost certainly follow.
