For a few moments, it was — 'Syrian regime-backed mercenaries' —until 'Iran-backed militias' returned to the American propaganda line

Would be funny, if it were not so abysmally stupid

From the AP:

A drone attack on a base housing U.S. troops in eastern Syria killed six allied Kurdish fighters late Sunday, in the first significant attack in Syria or Iraq since the U.S. launched retaliatory strikes over the weekend against Iran-backed militias that have been targeting its forces in the region.

The U.S.-backed, Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces said Monday the attack hit a training ground at al-Omar base in Syria’s eastern province of Deir el-Zour, where the forces’ commando units are trained.

No casualties were reported among U.S. troops.

An umbrella group of Iran-backed Iraqi militias, dubbed the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, released a video claiming responsibility for the attack and showing them launching a drone from an unspecified location.

The SDF initially accused “Syrian regime-backed mercenaries” of carrying out Sunday’s attack but in a second statement blamed “Iran-backed militias” after investigating the attack.

The umbrella group has launched dozens of drone attacks on U.S. military bases and troops in Iraq and Syria, and has called for the withdrawal of American soldiers from both countries.

A few facts

First, the US is in Syria illegally. Among other things, stealing Syrian oil.

Second, al-Omar is a US-run base. Not someone else's base, magically just "housing U.S. troops".

Third, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are a group of US-financed and armed Islamic terrorists that the US (idiotically) likes to call 'moderate'.

Being actual terrorists, they are also acting unlawfully.

Fourth, these supposedly Syrian 'Democratic' Forces do not have the equipment, or the intelligence apparatus, to investigate anything.

The AP's line about the SDF "investigating the attack" is deliberately misleading American propaganda talking.

And do notice how quickly the Biden Gang reasserted its anti-Iran focus.

We don't want a wider war, except that we do

Consider the following (anti-logical hilarity) from the US national security adviser:

National security adviser Jake Sullivan on Sunday did not rule out strikes inside Iran after the U.S. launched airstrikes Friday targeting Iranian proxies in Iraq and Syria in retaliation for the killing of three American soldiers.

During an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sullivan was asked by moderator Kristen Welker about whether the U.S. has ruled out strikes inside Iran.

“Well, sitting here today on a national news program, I’m not going to get into what we’ve ruled in and ruled out from the point of view of military action,” he said.

“What I will say is that the president is determined to respond forcefully to attacks on our people. The president also is not looking for a wider war in the Middle East.”

“But is it off the table? Are strikes inside Iran off the table?” Welker pressed.

“Again, Kristen, sitting here on television, it would not be wise for me to talk about what we’re ruling in and ruling out,” he replied.

When Welker asked one more time, “So you’re not ruling it out?” Sullivan said, “I’ll just say the same thing one more time.”

“I’m not going to get into what’s on the table and off the table when it comes to the American response,” he continued.

Paraphrased

Because, Kristen — says Sullivan — war is a frickin' good thing for the warfare-based American economy. Don't be a douche.

The moral? — If you want to grasp what is really going on . . .

. . . assume the moral and informational opposite of whatever the war-manufacturing, imperially trespassing US regime is spewing.
