American dictatorship is rising — apparently out of now fond US habit — in Buffalo's snow

It really does not get more ridiculous than this

From the AP:

State and military police were sent Tuesday to keep people off Buffalo’s snow-choked roads, and officials kept counting fatalities three days after western New York’s deadliest storm in at least two generations.

Even as suburban roads and most major highways in the area reopened, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz warned that police would be stationed at entrances to Buffalo and at major intersections because some drivers were flouting a ban on driving within New York’s second-most populous city.

More than 30 people are reported to have died in the region, officials said, including seven storm-related deaths announced Tuesday by Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown’s office.

Officials have said at news briefings that it was impossible to respond to emergency calls at the time.

So, in synopsis — if the AP is to be believed

Government cannot assist you in your emergencies.

Any more than it ever did anything notably useful, non-harming and above-board about COVID-19.

But it will send police and troops — into supposedly impassible snow conditions — to forcibly keep your darn, Government-annoying, selves off the roads.

The moral? — The United States is a laughably horrible . . .

. . . Autocracy Caricature of what it once was.

I suppose that even China might let you keep driving, if your social credit ranking were high enough.

Not so, evidently, here in the States.
